![]() Still not sure how it got fixed (hopefully permanently this time). )ĮDIT: It appears it's still working correctly. And the admin page is loading fast! Weird! Not sure what happened, but it seems to be actually working now? Will continue to monitor and see what happens. (SIDE NOTE: I also just now noticed I no longer have the "offline" banner. ![]() ![]() Just thought I'd put this out there for anyone who may be interested that sees this. There's also further information about later upgrading to DOCSIS 4.0 eventually, just not sure on the exact time frame. So maybe buying a device with DOCSIS 3.1 may be better? Not saying for certain, but who knows at this point. Which shouldn't be a problem, but that could be a cause of the connection issues. Other details I found out doing some more research is that more services are using DOCSIS 3.1 and older Netgear devices are only using DOCSIS 3.0. They did ask what router I had, but that wasn't an issue.Īt this point, though, it may be time to get a new router. I just came home, tried to connect, and my router reset itself again.Īs for what happened, I just called and told them I've been having intermittent connection issues, told them I've done all the standard troubleshooting, and asked if they could redo the signal on their end. (Still have the "offline" message, but that's a Netgear issue.) So when I come home from work tomorrow, we'll see what happens. So far it seems to be working even better, and the router admin page seems to load faster. Otherwise I'm at a loss at this point.ĮDIT 4: Contacted Xfinity and had them reset my connection. I'm with u/ResolveTime2337, I think it's an Xfinity issue, that they need to push an update or somehow resolve the connection issue on their end. (Side thought: How is it we all suddenly had the same issues starting at nearly the same time?) Still having connection / auto-restart issues. (NOTE: You may have to reconnect your service through your ISP app (such as Xfinity) or contact your ISP directly to get connection again.)ĮDIT 3: Factory reset did NOT work. Go to the router's admin page and reconnect your service. To factory reset, find the reset hole on the device, use a small item (paperclip, toothpick, pin) to push the button and hold for about 10 seconds. (Note: I still have the "offline" banner, but connection seems more stable, for now.) I just tried this as well, so we'll see how that works. So we'll see what happens.ĮDIT 2: Additional research for the connectivity issue found doing a factory reset is one troubleshooting method. So I've temporarily elevated it with a couple bottle caps and ordered some taller replacement feet for it to see if that helps alleviate some of the heat issue. Mine actually just started having connection issues and restarting itself. As long as it works, I wouldn't worry about it, just ignore the banner.ĮDIT: Another issue I came across while researching this is some of the problems can be caused by overheating as some of these don't have good heat displacement. If that server is down, it will say "offline" even though the service is connected. According to another post I saw on this from another site, it seems to stem from the server it tries to contact to test its connection.
